Construction is set to begin on November 7, improving Common Street between Gruene Road and Sundance Parkway.  Cross Lutheran fronts the section of roadway that will be under construction.  Work will be restricted to weekdays between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm in an effort to cause as little interference with school drop-off and pickup traffic.  During the hours of construction various locations along the roadway will be closed in one lane of traffic, utilizing the turn lane as a lane of travel.  The improvements include subgrade repair, resurfacing, pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Gruene Road and Common Street, as well as the construction of stretches of sidewalk to connect existing sidewalks.

The Hand Quilters challenge the congregational members to contribute to the Quilter/Youth Modular Building Fire Panel replacement fund.  If congregational members make contributions totaling up to $1,000 or more, the Hand Quilters will match with a $1,000 contribution.  Please put “Fire Panel Fund” on the check memo line or indicate “Fire Panel Fund” on your contribution envelope.  Additional contribution envelopes are available on the table on the right side as you enter the Sanctuary. If you have any questions, please call Barbara Pinson at 830-964-4373.

SANCTUARY SIDE DOORS ARE ATTENDED! – For those with mobility issues, and for the occasional inclement weather—the north side doors of the Sanctuary are available.  You will find them attended prior to each Sunday Morning Worship Service.  IF YOU LEAVE THE SANCTUARY THROUGH THOSE DOORS, please close them tightly behind you…they do not close without help!  Thank you!

Cross Lutheran Church members are now able to give their contributions to the Lord and their church by way of our church website (see the Home Page).
We now have a button titled Give Online. Click there and you will go to the online Giving Site and then follow the directions. The financial site is completely secure and reports of your giving are sent to Jim Arnold, the Financial Secretary at Cross.

This Online Giving provides you with the ability to give by self-directed bank transfers, or you may use your debit or credit card, or you may select a one-time gift or set up recurring contributions to the General Fund and Building Ministry Fund, as well as other ‘listed’ funds, including a limited number for our School Ministry.

If you are currently a ‘Simply Giving’ participant and wish to change to online giving—you will need to contact Mr. Arnold to let him know you wish to stop that method of giving, otherwise those contributions will continue.

In addition, visitors to our website will also be able to give a contribution to Cross Lutheran in the same way.

If you have questions, or would like more information, please contact Jim Arnold:

Cross Cares is our Homeless Ministry that started as an after-school club stuffing bags with “easy-open” food items and hygiene kits.  Cross Lutheran has partnered with Steve’s Pantry at Gruene United Methodist Church.  They provide us with the bags; we fill them up; and then they pass them out to the homeless in our community.  On the 3rd Sunday of the month we are asking you to bring “easy-open” food items and personal size hygiene items to support this ministry.  Easy-open items mean that they can be opened without a can opener.  SAMS’s Club and Costco are great places to shop for these items.  Thank you for supporting this ministry.

Did you know that Cross has an app for your mobile device?  Calendars, news, schedules, sermons…and much, much more is available to you!  Simply go to the app store for your device and type in Cross Lutheran Church & School.  You’ll find all kinds of things—from Bible Reading suggestions, to other resources.  You can even watch the sermon from Sunday!

Simply go to Sermon Archive on the menu at the top of this page. It is easy from there to select either watching the video, or just listening to the audio.

"You don’t have to stop asteroids with one hand or push a nuclear bomb through a black hole to be a world class hero.  The truth is, what you do to help others on a daily basis is what counts the most.  Not every day is going to offer us a chance to save somebody’s life, but every day offers us an opportunity to affect one.”  Mark Bezos – Lesson from a Firefighter.  As followers of Jesus Christ, we should find ourselves moved to help those in need and step forward, grasping opportunities to affect lives in a positive way.  C3Cross Coalition Connection, which stands for , is a new group ministry here at Cross.  Our goal is to help support local foster and adoptive families in need.  Stay tuned!  In the coming weeks, our ministry group will share with you opportunities where you can help.  If you have any questions, please talk to one of our group members, Jan & Ernie Simon, James & Shanna Smith or Patsy Saputa.  “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12
